How do I modify my ‘69 Dodge Charger “the General Lee” to jump cars WITHOUT breaking apart on landing?

This is the 4th. time I had to re-weld the body, replace the suspension/tires, replace the axle and fix both the oil and transmission pan!
Whoo! I like how you think with the truck frame under the body. maybe maybe.

Put the unibody on a Ramcharger frame with 44″ tires. That’s your only chance.

the general lee car had lateral link bars welded to the the uni frame on it ,what your doing is asking to get hurt if you keep trying to do things that you see on the movies, and its very costly also, the car they used in the movies was set up especially to do stunts in,good luck.

They actually used more than one Charger in the Dukes of Hazard. When they were getting ready to do the series, the producers bought several Chargers. This is because the cars were trashed by some of the landings and were unusable after wards. Same thing with Knight rider. In the program, pay attention to the front of the cars after they land after a jump scene. You can see the front ends crumpling just before they cut to the next scene.
