OMAR asked:

Hi:
I am in the process of replacing the struts and shocks. My car at the moment has 15 inch wheels, but I am planning on mounting 18 inch wheels. I have 3 questions. First, how can I figure out if my car has a sport suspension system? Second, I see that shock companies have sport and heavy duty type of shocks and struts. What type of struts and shocks do I need? What type of brands are good? I was looking into bilstiens, monroes and koni str. And finally, would I need to change the springs if I want to mount 18 inch wheels? Thanks everybody for your time and knowledge. It is surely appreciated.

Get discount Monroe Shocks.

Blue Sky asked:

I have a 1996 Z3 – 1.9 (they are obvious, they have no emblem on the back and the rear fenders are different that all the rest of the years.
Anyway, I did a lot of extra work on the car. It’s a hobby for me – I added a supercharger, decreased the compression ratio to 9:1, aluminum pistons, high lift/ low duration cams, cold air intake, hot cat exhaust, all kinds of suspension upgrades – I figure I’m somewhere around 240-250 Horsepower. But, it’s a ’sleeper’. I left the outside alone – it looks totally stock.
As I was pulling up to a red light, I noticed a 7 Series in the other lane pulling up behind me, pass me, and as he approached the red light, I noticed the DINAN written on the back. You know how you can tell when someone wants to blow your doors off? I knew he was going to smoke me.
At first I just kept up with him – I’m still laughing at the expression on his face, then, after a few yards, I waved Bye-Bye. I wonder if he took his car back to DINAN to ask what happened?

strutmasters.com
