I currently do not own a motorcycle, but am looking to purchase my first to ride for a long daily commute (140 miles daily total). I really like the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 Sportster, but I have been hearing mixed reviews about them. I know with the air cooled engine, you will get more vibration. Also, I hear the suspension is rough. Would this be uncomfortable for a long ride? How would the Iron 883 compare to the liquid cooled Honda Shadow Phantom?

I had a bike shop install a K&N air filter, and a Jet kit to accomodate my new Hard Krome Kickers for my 2000 Honda Sabre. The pipes sound awesome. When you get into it with these pipes, there isn’t much that sounds better. But for normal day to day riding, they are just too loud. I was wondering if, with the jet kit, could I get new crush gaskets and reinstall my stock pipes? Or would I have to go back to the shop and spend money to reinstall the stock jets ( I do have them)? Maybe some new baffles that shush her down a little? Stock pipes are too quite!! Furthermore, which jet do I adjust if I can use the current jets? Thanks for your time.

and then i just had stage 3 jet kit installed, just rode it on a 70+ degree weather, and it runs good and warmed up, but heres the thing

sometimes the idle rpm moves/swings between 1.5k rpm to 3k rpm, its different sometimes, some times its 2k, some times 2.5, when im stopped at a stop sign/idle.

also, i noticed that after stage 3 jet kit, the regular/normal temperature raised/highered slightly a little bit, and one more thing

when im stuck on traffic, or on a red light, i feel some heat sometimes comin out from it and the temp gauge would go up maybe 1/3 1/4 but thankfully not to the red (overheat) but its close/almost to the red area, but once the light turns green and i start to go, it goes back down i guess cause of the air/wind, its okay for me but, what im worried about is its not even summer yet, and it was 70’s and the temperature swings like that? im worried when its summer, when it gets to 80s-90s, im from michigan btw,

but how do i fix this? is messing with the idle rpm adjustment okay with the stage 3 jet kit? can i lower the idle adjusting *****? is this stage 3 suppose to be like this? if you had a ninja 250 and stage 3, help me out plz, id appreciate

also, yea, when im stopped in redlight/traffic, the rpm is high in my opinion, thats why its louder plus with the exhaust, like im gassing/reving in the stop sign with the idle rpm i have on right now.

also im a newb to bikes and i had a friend install the jet kit, not me, tell me what can i do to improve this, what can i try to adjusts? my coolant and radiator is full/working too. thansk guys
