Ryan. asked:

I just bought a used 2001 Ram 1500 with the 360 in it (5.9L V8) about 2 months ago.
And I’m not sure about Carfax, but before I go off and spend $30 or so on a history report, I wanted to get some knowledge on what kind of information a Carfax includes for a vehicle on the report. I’m particularly looking for things that the previous owner had done to the truck.

Such as aftermarket modifications, lift kits, exhaust systems, engine mods, etc.

By the way: It was a One Owner vehicle before I bought it.
The man had only put 38,500 miles on the truck within the last 8 years of ownership since it was purchased brand new from a Dodge dealership.

If anyone knows of a website where I can obtain information such as what I listed above for my specific vehicle, please tell me.
I will pay whatever price the website wants as long as they can give me that kind of information.

All your helpful answers are much appreciated.
Thank you and God Bless.

tgilb2719 asked:

I’m currently in the tear down of a 71 javelin and turning it into a resto-mod style trans-am javelin(street legal though). And I’m in planning stages while i part off original parts. I’m not worried about the original parts since it was my first car and don’t plan to sell it. There’s two issues that I’m looking for opinions on.

1. powertrain. my current hp goal is atleast 500. i was originally considering a ford v8 crate. but since I wanted a t-56 in viper spec. why not save the trouble of the bellhousing and etc. and just get a viper v10? prices we’re not very different when quoted for a local generation 3 v10 and crate fords on jegs and such.

2. Spoiler…the front spoiler being made is a replica of the trans am javelin. it will be too low to the ground to drive on the street to shows and events. the only solutions I’ve thought of so far (other than not driving on the street). A- make a removable extention to an original front spoiler(probably easiest and closest to original trans-am method) . B-make the spoiler be able to mechanically fold up(dads fav idea). C- since i’m updating the suspension from scratch anyway maybe use an air bag system to be able to raise and lower and stiffen and soften to my liking at a particular time(most costly and probably weighty)
I’m currently working for my mechanical engineering degree so don’t worry. and my father is an amc expert (owned 5 amxs 1 race built) THANKS for taking the time and offering ideas

strutmasters.com

Mike asked:

There is a 1995 lifted Chevy Blazer I’m interested in buying. It has a K&N air filter, 3″ suspension lift by Rough Country and 2″ body lift with 32″ BFG all-terrains. And it has a 4.3 liter 6 cylinder. Do you think the gas mileage is any good.

AIr Ride
