Bilstein shocks are standard equipment on a good many high-end cars, among them Mercedes-Benz. As shocks go, I would say Bilstein and Koni are perhaps the best, Boge nearly as good, and Rancho, Gabriel and Monroe well down the list.
Bilstein provides a smooth ride, Ranchos are more geared toward off-road abuse. Monroe is a good cheaper street shock. I wouldn’t buy anything Gabriel especially the Red (rough) Ryders
