As the recall notice states, they will install the spring shields and extend the warranty on the springs free of charge. If the spring breaks it will be replaced under warranty. But your popping sound may be due to bad CV joints, bearings or tie rod ends, not related to the spring corrosion. You can look to see if your car has the spring shields- if it does, then your car has already been taken in for the recall. Also, you can call the 800# and give them your VIN# and they can tell you if your car's been done or not. Either way, you need to get it fixed.

I think so.
It's a safety issue.
Take it to your nearest Ford Dealer.

If you purchased that car from any dealer in used cars, the law also states, "Do not transfer ownership until the recall parts are replaced", that's paraphrased by me.

They still should honor the recall.

As long as the recall hasn't already been performed, yes they will, they are obligated to. Call the number given and ask them. They will be able to tell by the VIN if it is eligble for the recall.

Call the toll free number and ask. Have your VIN number handy in case they ask for it. It's possible this warranty recall was already done to your car - the recall is 5 years old.
