Would a newer Harley-Davidson Sportster (Iron 883) be comfortable enough for an 1hr 15 min commute?
asked:
I currently do not own a motorcycle, but am looking to purchase my first to ride for a long daily commute (140 miles daily total). I really like the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 Sportster, but I have been hearing mixed reviews about them. I know with the air cooled engine, you will get more vibration. Also, I hear the suspension is rough. Would this be uncomfortable for a long ride? How would the Iron 883 compare to the liquid cooled Honda Shadow Phantom?

The newer sportsters are rubber mounted so the vibration is not nearly the issue it was in the past. 70 miles at a time on a sportster should be a piece of cake. Depending on how your **** fits the seat, you may be looking to upgrade to a more comfortable one.
